Temporary warehouse buildings.

Non-insulated lightweight buildings for ambient storage, workshops and industrial operations.

A temporary warehouse building is an enclosed, demountable structure that gives you extra storage, workshop or industrial space without the cost and build time of a permanent warehouse. As the entry-level building in our range, our non-insulated temporary industrial buildings are the ideal budget solution for ambient storage, workshops and operational space that doesn’t need temperature control. For temperature-sensitive goods, our insulated lightweight buildings offer year-round control.

  • Basic, entry-level enclosed space for overflow storage and workshops
  • Side heights from 4.20m–6.20m available
  • Installs in 5-10 days onto most existing surfaces

Overview

Temporary storage buildings, built in just days.

Installed in a matter of days, the single-layer temporary building benefits from a high degree of natural light through its translucent industrial PVC roof, reducing lighting costs significantly.

Walls can be clad with corrugated steel sheets or further industrial PVC covers to keep expenditure to a minimum, giving you clear-span temporary warehouse space at a fraction of the cost of a permanent build. The aluminium frame comes with a 10-year guarantee and allows for a very fast construction method on existing concrete surfaces.

FAQs

Got a question? We've answered it.

The most common questions we're asked about demountable non-insulated buildings.

Our non-insulated temporary storage buildings are an entry-level product that provides the ideal budget solution for non-sensitive storage and workshop areas that do not require temperature control. The walls and roof of such buildings are usually single-layer, made from PVC covers and corrugated steel sheets for walls.

In comparison, thermo insulated temporary buildings are suitable for warehousing or operational areas where temperature sensitive products or operations are scheduled. The double-layered inflated roof system, combined with insulated sandwich panel walls minimise condensation, help regulate internal temperature control and reduce any structural noise.

Depending upon the use of the building and what will be stored inside, choosing either an insulated or non-insulated lightweight building is a crucial step in designing the right space.

HTS Industries clients have used a non-insulated building as extra commercial storage, back-of-house servicing, temporary sports studios, interim retail facilities. Many other high-profile clients have used them on medium-length construction/infrastructure projects as well as workshops and as vehicle/machinery storage.

Yes, typically the cost of installation is included in the total price given by HTS Industries. We are able to offer installation packages or, should you choose to install the building yourself, our Project Managers can be scheduled to assist on site.

Separate dismantling costs can be sought from HTS Industries should your building need to be dismantled or moved location. Reach out to the team to discuss your requirement further.

Yes — our modular lightweight buildings can be linked to each other as well as to an existing, traditionally built warehouse. Please contact the team to discuss further.

No, you do not need specific foundations for a HTS semi-permanent building. Our range of industrial lightweight canopies and buildings can be installed on level surfaces such as concrete or hard coring. We can supply a suitable fixing for almost all ground conditions after consultation.

The proposed building will be designed to meet the site-specific wind loads in accordance with BS6399-2 considering the worst-case directional site-specific wind pressure based upon an effective 3 second gust speed. If specific wind or snow loads are required the structure can be adapted to comply.

HTS offer standard semi-permanent structures in clear span widths between 5.00m – 35.00m with side heights of 4.20, 5.20, 6.20m and infinite lengths in 5.00m increments. Custom sizes are also available should your requirement not fit our standard framework sizes.

In some cases, our client’s buildings have been in use for over 20 years with minimal maintenance needed. Ours come with a 10-year frame warranty.

There is no standard price for a temporary warehouse as usage, size, and build all play a part. Aluminium demountable structures are extremely versatile as commercial and industrial buildings. They offer great flexibility in terms of construction, design, and usage. Because of this, there is no standard price or set pricing structure for these structures. Please contact an HTS expert to discuss your warehouse specifications for a basic quotation. Typically, the cost of installation is included in the total price we quote.

Smaller modular warehouses and structures can be installed in just a few days, while larger semi-permanent buildings may take up to 14 days.

A clear span building is a structure designed to have an obstruction-free internal footprint. The framework of the building allows for a completely empty space, without the need for internal columns or supports.

Yes, a temporary warehouse can be relocated. Due to their design as modular framework buildings, HTS structures are fully demountable, making them easy to relocate, expand and grow with your business when needed.

Often, yes. A temporary warehouse on an existing industrial or warehouse site can count as permitted development, but only within strict limits on floor space, height and distance from the boundary. Many temporary buildings are too large to qualify. Rules vary across the UK, so always check with your local planning authority before installation.

In most cases, yes. Buildings in place for less than 28 days are exempt, but most temporary warehouses stay much longer, so building regulations approval is normally required. HTS supplies site-specific structural calculations as standard to support your application.

A temporary building is a structure designed to be installed, dismantled and relocated, without permanent foundations or traditional construction. HTS temporary buildings use aluminium frames, and they can stay in place for as long as you need them.

Not always. Many permanent warehouses are steel-framed. What makes a building temporary is that it’s designed to be dismantled and moved. HTS doesn’t offer steel-framed buildings. Our aluminium-framed structures give the same advantages with galvanised steel connectors and a fully demountable design.
